Dell Leaks the World’s First Phenom II X4 Laptop

by Matthew Smith on May 3, 2010

Well, here is an interesting bit of news. Semi-Accurate is reporting that Dell has leaked its entire new line of Inspiron products by placing them on to the company’s website before any actual announcement was made. Its mostly standard stuff – a full refresh of the line with Core i3 and i5 processors – but one thing which does stick out is the new Inspiron M501R Laptop, which features Phenom II X4 processors.

The Phenom II X4 has never shown up in a laptop before. There is no information given in regards to what the actual processor’s model number is or what its clock speed will be. The Dell M501R also is shipping on a new ATI M880G chipset which features integrated Radeon HD4250 graphics. An optional Radeon 550v graphics upgrade is listed. This is also new – this graphics option has never been introduced before. You can’t buy the Dell Inspiron M501R yet, but you can go check it out.
