Are you a fan of the underdog? Then you might be interested to hear the latest rumors surrounding the VIA VX900, a new “media system processor” built primarily to improve video playback in netbooks and laptops.
The rumor goes that both Samsung and Lenovo will be launching products using the chip. Some rumors suggest that these products will arrive as soon as June of this year while others say that VIA will simply be announcing some “design wins” in June, with the products hitting shelves later.
Its a bit early to be predicting release dates, but the jest of the rumor isn’t crazy. Both Samsung and Lenovo have used VIA chips in the past as a substitute for the Atom and seem to have a good relationship with VIA.
