News: 36 ASUS Laptops Revealed

by Matthew Smith on March 29, 2010

ASUS has been doing its damnedest to be the number one laptop company in the world. They have some amazing gaming laptops in the Republic of Gamers series, that have some of the best ultraportables in products like the ASUS UL30, and they have some of the world’s best netbooks in the Eee PC line.

But ASUS isn’t done yet. They announced some interesting products earlier this year, and now we have the first in-print confirmations of those products in the ASUS eMagazine. This massive docuement, posted over at Engadget, includes a slew of new ASUS laptops.

My favorites?

– This is in ASUS’s new Bamboo line of laptops. It’s not just a name – they actually have Bamboo used in the construction of the laptop’s line and some of the handrest. They  come with Core i3, i5, or i7 processors, a 13.3 inch LED screen, and Nvidia Gefroce 310M graphics with Optimus. I’m really excited to get a hold of one of these. New and unique designs are hard to come by and there really isn’t anything else which looks like this laptop.

– What I like about this one is the simplicity of its design and the low price tag which will probably go with it. AMD processors paired with Mobility Radeon 5145 graphics and a 14 inch screen means this will probably be a nice, competent mainstream laptop for $400-$500 dollars.

– Finally, products with Core i5 ultra-low voltage processors! And as if that wasn’t enough, this baby has a Nvidia 310M GPU with Optimus! And a 13.3 inch screen! And ten hours of battery life! What the hell more could you want?

– This may be the fastest gaming laptop around when it comes out. It can be equipped with up to a Core i7 820 and always come standard with a Mobility Radeon 5870 GPU. Damn. It looks sexy too.

There is no release date information except for “‘soon” right now. Which already isn’t soon enough.
